Ayatollah Dr. Raisi in New York: Iran Offers to Mediate in Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Ayatollah Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, arrived in New York to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his visit, he took the opportunity to address several critical issues, including Iran's stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In discussions with senior American media managers on Monday, September 27, President Raisi firmly rejected allegations of Tehran's involvement in arms sales to Russia for use in the Ukraine war.

He reiterated Iran's opposition to the conflict and expressed its readiness to mediate between Ukraine and Russia in hopes of ending the ongoing hostilities.

Addressing the claim that Iranian drones were being supplied to Russia for the conflict, Ayatollah Raisi challenged those making such allegations to provide concrete evidence. He revealed that a meeting had taken place in Oman with Ukraine, where they were expected to present proof of their allegations, but failed to do so. President Raisi emphasized the need for transparency, stating that if there is credible evidence, it should be presented for review.

Ayatollah Raisi reaffirmed Iran's willingness to act as a mediator in the Russia-Ukraine conflict

President Raisi also questioned the United States' approach to the conflict, urging them to focus on ending the war rather than supplying weapons. He raised concerns about the U.S. profiting from continued conflict and arms sales to Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of collective international efforts to bring an end to the war.

On the subject of the 2015 nuclear deal and ongoing talks between Tehran and Washington, President Raisi criticized the United States for failing to uphold its commitments while accusing Europe of not fulfilling its obligations.

Iran's president cited the International Atomic Energy Agency's repeated confirmation of Iran's compliance with its nuclear commitments and emphasized the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear industry.

In response to a question about Iran's stance on the normalization of relations between Arab countries and the Zionist Regime, President Raisi asserted that such normalization would not lead to increased security. Instead, he advocated for a democratic solution to the Palestinian crisis, echoing the proposals made by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

He emphasized the need for the formation of a government that reflects the desires of the Palestinian people, bringing an end to decades of oppression and conflict.

President Raisi's statements in New York underscore Iran's commitment to regional and global peace and its willingness to play a constructive role in resolving international conflicts.
